Disaster area reconstruction support activity report

Disaster area reconstruction support activity report from May 2012

Regarding the “Great East Japan Earthquake” that occurred in the Tohoku region on March 11, 2011, I would like to express my heartfelt sympathy to all the affected areas.

We wanted to help people who were hit by disasters more than ever before. As a result of thinking about what we can do as an IT company, we decided to set up a disaster support headquarters, improve the living environment in the areas affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake, support the telecommunication environment, and revitalize the business. At the same time, employees with a desire to carry out personal support activities came together and began to take the initiative in planning and carrying out support activities.

As reported at that time, the orderly behavior of the people of Tohoku in this earthquake, the spirit of helping each other, made the world widely known and impressed. For those affected by the disaster, We wanted to take action rather than think, we looked for what we could, and we helped.

When we first went to Tohoku in April 2011, we were shocked to see the misery. In anticipation of having one day as early as possible to recover, we started the disaster area support activities by employees in May 2012. And that activity is still ongoing.

Initially, in order to revitalize the shopping street in the afflicted area, we were creating a website as a volunteer. In particular, We went to Kesennuma Reconstruction Shopping Street in Miyagi Prefecture Kesennuma City and Hamamachi Shopping Street in Hisanohama town, Iwasaki City, Fukushima Prefecture many times.

Under these circumstances, we helped cook out the medical corporation Shadansuiseikai Shibata Hospital, which had come to Kesennuma for support activities, and helped medical consultations, medical checkups, and mental health care. We also felt the passion and wonderfulness of Japanese young people while studying various things through support activities with many other volunteers.

We have been carrying out support activities with the desire to cheer up the people of Tohoku, but we were eventually cheered up. We felt the kindness of being in touch with the warm heart of the people of Tohoku and having given us something important as a human being. We realize that "happiness" is not something that can be bought for money, but rather overflows from people-to-people interactions. That's why we still want to meet the people of Tohoku. Of course we will go there this year.

Our management philosophy is "Sekishin", and we value humility. We think this is a very important thing for people to live happily humanly in both work and private life.

We hope to continue contributing to society through human interaction.
